Most concerts and operas during the Salzburg Festival are taking place in the main festival hall ("Großes Festspielhaus") or in the "Haus für Mozart".
To get there from us, it is a walk of about 20 - 25 minutes or a bus ride of about 10 minutes. During the Festival season it may also be wise to let us know a few hours in advance, in case that you want to go to the Festival Hall by taxi, as a "last minute taxi", shortly before a performance starts, is usually hard to get.
In case that you decide to take the bus, you can take bus numer "1" directly from the main train station, which is going to bring you to the "Herbert-von-Karajahn Platz", which is right next to the Main Festival Hall and the "Haus für Mozart".
But there are also other locations during the Salzburg Festival, where performances take place: There is the "Jedermann", which is a play right in front of the cathedral or there are performances on the "Pernerinsel" in the city of Hallein, which can easily be reached by train from the main train station.
